Unnecessarily detailed information about research centers
An unregistered editor is insisting that this article include a very detailed set of paragraphs about some of the research centers of this university. This article should cannot go into too much detail about any specific part of the university as it's a general encyclopedia article about the entire institution; WP:UNIGUIDE, WP:NOT, and WP:DUE are relevant Wikipedia policies and practices. Moreover, it's unacceptable to use misleading edit summaries such as "added the number of colleges and schools. clarified student population to "approximately"" when readding thousands of bytes of information about a completely different topic. There have been several chunks of edits by IP users coming from the Old Dominion University's IP address set (Cox in Norfolk, general location near the river between Norfolk and Portsmouth) and one single purpose account named ODUMonarch. It appears likely that someone from the institution is editing this article undisclosed and hiding behind IP edits to avoid being identified. See above comment as well. These edits are usually not minor, and have included removing sections and adding unnecessarily specific detail. --18:48, 13 January 2024 (UTC) StreetcarEnjoyer (talk) 18:48, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
