A fact from Interactive urinal communicator appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 29 March 2005. The text of the entry was as follows:
|
"Some plain screens have carried advertising for a few years now." (final sentence)
--> Am I too stupid to understand what that means or refers to? <KF> 20:49, Mar 29, 2005 (UTC)
The drain cover in a urinal has an advertisement on it......
I don't know about everybody else's locales, but in Northern Ireland I forsee this leading to lots of smashed such devices... GreyKnight 17:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm just a random reader, but this article reads as if it was written by whoever owns the patent to this thing and wants to get his idea out there. For instance, the last sentence "The use of interactive urinal screens is being advocated by guerrilla marketers," is not cited and makes no sense in context. In fact, nothing is cited, and the one of the three external links goes to the company's websites. The rest of the article basically describes the patent. The article is orphaned, so it has no relevance to wikipedia. But it has been linked to in quirky things like "did you know" and "unusual pages."
