Very cool to have this! But isn't the volume of this file a bit low? — mark ✎ 10:58, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Yup, the volume is too low. I've worked out how to use the normalise feature on Audacity so I could reload the file with a better volume. --Gareth Hughes 22:01, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Well, I've normalised the recording, and the volume should be a lot better now: tell me what you think. --Gareth Hughes 10:31, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Still very low in volume to my ears... or there must be a caching problem and I'm getting the old version (if that's possible?). I've given it a try in Sound Forge and normalized it to a -20 dB RMS level (I'm not fully sure what that means, but in any case, the 'Speech' preset puts it at -10dB and that's a little too loud, causing some distortion). I've also applied a modest noise gate to get rid of the buzz in the silent parts. Download here. What do you think? — mark ✎ 10:59, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I've uploaded a new version of the file, but now I've listened to yours, and think that's much better. Have a listen: if you agree, upload your version. I cannot profess to know much about the intricacies of sound recording. How do the other files associated with Aramaic language sound to you? --Gareth Hughes 19:51, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
