Talk:HIV testing
This article is intended to explain in simple terms the current state of the art of HIV testing, what it is and why it is done.
It is distinct from HIV blood screening as different issues are involved.
This article is not intended to discuss technical details of specific tests, which is currently done at HIV test an article listed for peer review, whichis out of date and needs extensive editing
This article could be expanded to discuss why HIV testing is (or is not) recommended for, military recruits, pregnant women, medical doctors.
It could even discuss how HIV testing was introduced to discourage high risk groups from donating blood?
Specifically it will explore the three "c"'s of HIV testing - confidentiallity, counselling and consent. And why HIV testing is available to less that 10% of people "at risk" in the world today
