positives to his policies that allowed him to gain election
[edit]I have edited this article with info that was easily available to me. However, I believe there must have been some positives to his policies that allowed him to gain election, and they are underrepresented in the article as it stands.--Pmeisel 16:21, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)
What exactly was this guy indicted for doing?
[edit]The article says he was indicted for fraud, extortion, etc. Details would seem very relevant. Cazort (talk) 13:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
On The Phoenix Lights
[edit]As perhaps the most prominent (foremost, credible, etc. - pick your adjective) witness of the 1997 Phoenix Lights, I believe this page deserves its own section on the Governor's testimony to the event. It's rather well documented - there is a CNN video that is easy to find on Youtube, and I am sure archived journal records are manifold. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.140.184.123 (talk) 07:32, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Is that really necessary? It's a momentous event, sure, but that's it basically. __meco (talk) 17:39, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

constitution crisis
[edit]The most interesting part of this mans life is the constitutional crisis he nearly caused by sending National Guard troops to open the Grand Canyon.Kingman Daily Miner Which is not in the article. Ikip 16:16, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
UFO sighting
[edit]This can probably be kept out of the article, but is interesting:
- Symington confirms he saw UFO 10 years ago
- By LESLIE KEAN, The Daily Courier Sunday, March 18, 2007
- Ten years after the "Phoenix Lights" UFO incident, former Arizona Gov. Fife Symington, III, now says he saw an unidentified object that night, even though he originally did not say so publicly.

moved to talk
[edit]"He was charged in a 1996 indictment; 1997 superseding indictment for false statements to federally insured financial institutions, wire fraud, attempted extortion and false statements in bankruptcy proceeding, 18 U.S.C. §§ 1014, 1343, 1951, 152, 2(a) and 2(b)"
This was in the background section, but replicates the governor section, except it is more specific. Ikip 16:21, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Assessment comment
[edit]The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Fife Symington/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
This article seems to be biased towards a revisionist pro-Symington profile. It does not adequately discuss his misdeeds. |
