[edit]from VfD: Not notable--minor fictional character. Well presented article, and I like Arrested Development, but I don't really think we need separate articles on every fictional character that has appeared in two episodes of a TV series that hasn't even finished its second year of episodes. A single article discussing all the show's characters seems more appropriate, at least until it gets big enough that break-out articles are actually needed.Niteowlneils 18:18, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, 1 article discussing all the show's characters seems far more appropriate. You have my vote. --Hackeron 18:22, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- (Neutral.) Before you proceed with this, take a look at List_of_characters_from_Arrested_Development. Have fun, [[User:KeithTyler|Keith D. Tyler [flame]]] 18:31, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
- A single page makes sense here, as it does above. Furthermore, this article is misnamed and unsearchable. For that alone the vote would be delete. Geogre 19:21, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Agree the name needs fixing, but the content and history should be preserved. Andrewa 20:13, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Yeah, the name is screwed up. But, I disagree that the fact that AD is 2 episodes into their 2nd installment means that all the characters should subsist on one lousy page. If Alias has indivdual pages for each character, AD should have 2 pages for each. Popularity and longevity are no benchmark of quality. Look at Murder She Wrote, Baywatch, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", the rotting corpse of what is left of the Simpsons.
I understand why it is assumed that one page should suffice for this show. Until 25 million tune in every week, it might as well have Andy Richter's name in the title. Until all of America is wiping their ass with Tobias Funke's triple ply cushion paper, this show is marginal. Well, genius is marginal too. I am really at a loss that there is so much filth on Wikipedia that needs to disappear, and people are complaining because the character Carl Weathers isn't "really necessary". Honestly, parents are starting to shy away from letting their kids near Wikipedia because so much of the content is simply not appropriate for them. Pretty soon, we're going to need a scatological zoning permit just to wade through this fecum.
So, now that we are on the subject of David Cross-related shows that have been sadly neglected here at home, I am also doing the same thing with Mr. Show characters. Y'know, talk about marginal and completely useless. But, Pit-Pat really got to me and I thought he/she/it should be recognized.
I was touched by Senator Tankerbell.
So, be bold. Put them all up for deletion. What possible purpose do they serve, really? Does White Power Bill really matter all that much? Will those creatures in the future who learn all about America pop culture from Wikipedia even care about racist sterotypes and self-hatred?

- Merge and redirect all character pages into one article. -Sean Curtin 04:42, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
- dont delete, improve
- Above comment by User:69.194.201.179; this is not their first edit.
- Merge. Combine the character articles. Arrested Development is a great show in my opinion, but it hasn't achieved the degree of cultural influence that would warrant dozens of character pages. --Polynova 06:09, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete or merge. This one can go, not a major character. Gamaliel 07:04, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I'm sick of people treating wikipedia as a fansite. Does White Power Bill really matter all that much? No! A "White Power Bill" that appears in the US Senate likely would, but not a minor character on a TV that barely escaped cancellation at the end of last season (like just about every other quality show on FOX). Trim and merge and redirect. And do the same with Alias. And just about every other show. Some fanatic makes a extremely detailed article on a character on his favorite show and now everyone else has to point their finger and say "if he did it so can I!" And we really don't need an article on every character on Mr. Show. It's sketch comedy; few characters appear for more than 3 minutes. The last thing wikipedia needs is an article on the guy who calls in to "The Pre-taped Call-In Show" to ask about his grandfather's cat. -R. fiend 19:52, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I've started merging after a fashion. To wit, I added G.O.B.'s wife to his page and linked it back to him. I am thinking of perhaps creating one page for the Bluths, one for the Funkes, but I don't have any idea what to do with the "incidentals". Still, as I put more pieces together, I will continue developing these characters. One page for the minor characters would be fine. Even a single page for every character (like many of the anime pages such as the List of characters in Neon Genesis Evangelion page). However, that page looks like crap. I've at least got permission to use Image caps from the Balboa Observer-Picayune website.

- Keep and move to fix title. - [[User:KeithTyler|Keith D. Tyler [flame]]] 19:44, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Merge into article on Arrested Development. DCEdwards1966 04:55, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)
I suggest the following:
- Full page for the show
- The current list page, with links for minor characters to List of minor characters from Arrested Development page
- Separate pages for main characters: 6 Bluths and 3 Funkes.
- One page for minor chars. w/ images
- Images reduced to <200px on minor characters page
- Text reduced to skeletal outline on minor char. page
So yes, edit, merge and redirect. I'm going to begin amending these pages as stated unless credible, superior options are proffered within the next few days.... Curtsurly 09:42, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC) end moved discussion
