Talk:E-Work
Frankly, I don't see that there's any difference between e-work and telework. I think this should be a simple redirect with, possibly, a footnote added to telework. --LeeHunter 01:07, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)
I second that. E-Work, Telework, and Telecommuting must be merged together. While the articles claim certain subtle differences, this is a natural result of the evolution of the notion, which is basically the same. mikka (t) 17:19, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
Another issue is that the current article reads more like an essay than like an encyclopedic article (using the word "we", and fuzzy, non-verifiable definitions). Maybe someone could improve the style a bit and/or merge it into Telecommuting? -- Felix Wiemann 23:05, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
The difference is cultural/lingusitical... e-work and telework are European terms (e-work being the newer of the two) and telecommuting is from the United States. Its all the same thing so yes they could, indeed should, be merged ...the big problem is that there is zero usage of the term telecommuting in Europe and as far as I know zero usage in the States of the terms e-work and telework.
So what would the article be called? ... either way you do it you are going to be relegating one or other culture to second place, which will undoubtedly annoy and cause all sorts of article edit wars to occur here..... so maybe till a worldwide term is used we should just be content to link one to the other and vice versa
my vote is for merging telecommuting, and e-work
